Biography

I chose to pursue psychology with a focus on cognitive psychology as I had a deep interest in understanding how the interaction of mental processes such as memory, learning, perception, problem solving and creativity can affect how we think and process information. Having experienced personal mental health challenges during my studies and going through counselling myself, I knew that I wanted to help people in the same way. I realised that my desire was to give people have what I didn’t have, support, safety, validity, ability to talk about and feel emotions without judgement.

I chose counselling because I could help people attain healing by creating an environment that was conducive for healing. A space where people would not only receive empathy and compassion but also be empowered and learn new skills to cope with life’s stressors and accomplish mental health and wellness goals.

Pursuing therapy will definitely bring up concerns for most people which is understandable. All I can do is assure you that I will help and support you every step of the way. So lets start the journey together.
